CEO
Carmen Waite, a graduate of NC State University, built a distinguished career in the home textiles industry before dedicating her talents to youth development. She served as President of Weiqiao America and Perfect Fit Industries, leading with strategic insight and a strong focus on growth and innovation.
Carmen’s connection to the Boys & Girls Club of the Plateau (BGCP) began as a volunteer, where her dedication and leadership quickly made her an invaluable part of the organization. When the search for a new CEO began in 2021, her proven leadership skills, passion for community service, and forward-thinking vision made her the clear choice. She stepped into the role in February 2022 and immediately set her sights on expanding the Club’s reach and impact across Macon and Jackson counties.
Under Carmen’s leadership, BGCP has experienced unprecedented growth. Membership has increased from 150 to over 600 youth, the new Highlands location opened in 2024, and the Abell Teen Club was launched to provide teens with mentorship, academic support, and a safe space to thrive. Her work has elevated BGCP to national recognition, with the organization being named one of the top 20 Boys & Girls Clubs in the United States. In acknowledgment of her leadership, Carmen was invited to serve on the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Advisory Council, shaping the future of youth development on a broader scale.
