About Us

Before the Boys & Girls Club of the Plateau (BGCP) opened its doors, local children and youth had no access to a daily after-school enrichment program—and to this day, BGCP remains the only program of its kind in the area.

In response to this need, a dedicated group of community leaders explored options and identified a Boys & Girls Club as the ideal solution. Thanks to the generosity of 10 founding families and funding from Mountain Youth Charities, BGCP began serving the community during the 2014-2015 school year. Our inaugural summer camp followed in 2015.

As our membership rapidly grew, it became clear that a larger facility was essential to meet the increasing demand. In April 2022, we proudly opened our new location at 558 Frank Allen Road.

In continued response to community needs, BGCP expanded further with the opening of a new Highlands location for the 2024-2025 school year with support from the Highlands community. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that we are in the construction phase of a state-of-the-art Teen Club, set to open in 2025.

Today, BGCP remains the only five-day-a-week after-school program serving students in Southern Jackson County. Membership is free, providing access to a wide array of enriching programs and opportunities. Additionally, our Teen Club offers a welcoming space for registered teens to drop in during open hours.
